Lotus 1-2-3 for DOS R2.3/2.4 Wysiwyg Driver
Here is your 1-2-3 for DOS Release 2.3 and 2.4 Update package to install a

DOS.
Lotus and Hewlett-Packard hope that the HP LaserJet 4Si/4Si MX printer
driver meets your needs.

INSTALLATION NOTES:
Before proceeding with the update, please make sure there is at least 1.3
megabytes of hard disk space available on the disk containing your 1-2-3
program. This amount of disk space is required temporarily to allow the
update to create copies of the files that will be modified. This is done
to insure that the integrity of all files being affected remains intact
during the update procedure.
To install the driver from the Printer Driver disk, follow these instructions:
1. Insert the Update disk in drive A: (or B:)
2. At the operating system prompt, type A: (or B:) and press ENTER to make
A: (or B:) the current drive.
3. At the prompt, type DRIVE4Si
A) At the main menu, select Lotus 1-2-3 Version 2.3, 2.4
B) Select Copy Driver File(s)
C) Enter the path of your Release 2.3 or 2.4 directory, and then press
ENTER. For example, if you have Release 2.3 and your directory is
C:\123R23, you would type C:\123R23 and then press ENTER.
When the update is complete, the following message
appears: "To take advantage of the new printer driver, you must now
run the 1-2-3 Install program."
4. You must now run the Install program. Follow the instructions in chapter
4 of Getting Started (if you have Release 2.3) or chapter 5 of Getting
Started (if you have Release 2.4) to start Install.
A) In the 1-2-3 Install program, choose "Change selected equipment"
and then choose "Add New Drivers to the Library" and identify the drive
A: (or B:) containing this Update disk. When Install indicates that it
has completed adding the new drivers, choose "Return to Main Menu".
B) Choose "Select Your Equipment" from the Install Main Menu and follow
the instructions on the screen. The new printer driver provided on
this disk is a "Graphics printer", its name will appear in Install's menu
as: "HP LaserJet 4Si PCL5"
C) Make sure you select "Yes" when Install asks if you want to "Generate
Fonts".
If you have multiple driver sets, you must recreate each
driver set using "Select Your Equipment".

APPLICATION NOTES:
1-2-3 for DOS will automatically use internal scalable typefaces resident
in your printer when you select to use the "HP LaserJet 4Si PCL5" driver
in Wysiwyg, the publishing environment which is part of 1-2-3 for DOS.
If you have a 1-2-3 spreadsheet which you would like to try printing with
your new HP LaserJet 4Si/4Si MX printer driver, just "/File Retrieve" it.
Make sure that you select the appropriate driver and interface through
Wysiwyg's ":Print" menu or through the dialog box. Then choose ":Print
Range Set", and when your printer is ready, choose ":Print Go".
Refer to your 1-2-3 User's Guide if you need more information on printing
with 1-2-3's Wysiwyg or the ":Print" menu(s).
The following fonts in 1-2-3's Wysiwyg display will automatically map to
your HP LaserJet 4Si/4Si MX printer:
Swiss => CG-Universe Dutch => CG-Times
You can also select the HP LaserJet 4Si/4Si MX printer fonts by name
through the Wysiwyg menu ":Format Font Replace (1-8) Other".
Then:
"Select the typeface"
"Fontsize in points"
Please keep in mind that 1-2-3's Wysiwyg display can not show you the
actual font available on your printer. Moreover, you may notice that the
spacing between characters changes on screen when you've selected to use a
font available in your HP LaserJet 4Si/4Si MX printer. This is done to
indicate the width of characters as they will appear on your printed
output.
HP LaserJet 4Si/4Si MX Printer Fonts Selectable Through Wysiwyg:
CG Times HP-TIMES.IFL
Univers HP-UNVRS.IFL
Albertus HPALBERT.IFL
Antique Olive HPANTOLV.IFL
